Invisalign Q&A
We know that we have adult patients who are looking to straighten their teeth. One option that provides many benefits is Invisalign. We see patients who have heard of Invisalign but are not familiar with the ins and outs of the treatment. We want to answer some of the most common questions we receive about Invisalign.
What is Invisalign?
- If you are unfamiliar, Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that uses clear trays to slowly transition the teeth into the proper placement.
Are Invisalign trays in the mouth permanently?
- One of the biggest benefits of this treatment is that the trays are removable. While we recommend that you wear the trays for as many hours as possible, they should always be removed when eating and brushing your teeth.
Are there food restrictions?
- Because the trays are removable, patients do not have the same food restrictions as with traditional metal braces. Patients love that they can continue to enjoy their favorite foods during treatment.
Is it easy to care for your teeth and the trays?
- Patients will continue to clean their teeth the same way as always, brushing and flossing daily. We will provide instructions for cleaning the trays. It is important to follow our directions, so you do not damage the trays.
