Tips to Maintain Your Oral Health This Summer
The most important tip we want to offer our patients is to be mindful of their oral hygiene routine. We know that summer days can be full and long, leaving a person feeling exhausted by the end of the night. No matter how tired you may be, it is important to brush and clean your teeth properly. Skipping your oral hygiene routine can lead to decay and other concerns.
Be sure to prepare for travel with any supplies you may need. This is particularly important if you are traveling to an area where staples are not easy to come by. It is also wise to be sure to pack all necessary appliances and accessories if you are receiving orthodontic treatment.
While it is tempting to indulge in sweets and treats during the summer, we always recommend enjoying them in moderation. Overindulging in sweet treats can lead to issues with decay, which can then lead to the need for dental treatments.
Drink more water during the summer. Not only is it beneficial to your overall health, but water helps to wash away any lingering bacteria. It is best to avoid sugary drinks such as soda and sports drinks.
